A user can sign up for interest or sign up for installation. Signing up for interest is to schedule a discussion with a JALENAS sales representative, which can either be done through visiting our homepage, calling our customer care or by walking into our offices and filling an interest application form. Signing up (binding order) for an 1XS connection can only be done using JALENAS registration form and the customer must walk in to one of our sales offices or our service provider sales offices.

The connection is applicable and available to home, government and business users. To sign up for installation the person has to be at least 18 years old, must be able to identify himself using an approved ID card and must be the owner of the property. If the property is tenanted, he/she needs to get permission in writing from the property owner by filling in our registration form.

JALENAS is working with several service providers. We will announce our partners and their offerings when we go commercial in April month. Until then we would like to ask you to complete the interest form and we will get back to you later with more information.

The standard installation fee is RM268. However, there will be attractive promotions in conjunction with the launch of the network. Right now we recommend our customers to fill up the interest form and JALENAS will get back to you once the sales have started. The information regarding service costs and service provider connection charges etc. will be provided concurrently during the start of sales.

Customers have to subscribe for the service directly with the service provider(s). If a customer wants to switch from one provider to another, they have to cancel the subscription with the first service provider first. After this a new contract can be signed with the new service provider. It is possible to have 2 services or more at the same time from one or several different service providers. Please contact your preferred service provider and they will register your application and enable/activate the service. Service providers normally have a sign-up fee or charge. This depends on the service provider and the nature of the service. Contact the respective provider. The service providers and their contract information will be released after the start of sales.

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) is the description of a fiber optic cable delivered to the premises of the end user. Services like Internet, voice, television and other services can be delivered over the fiber optic cable. Open Access is the name defining a network where more than one service provider is allowed to market and deliver services to the end users under one infrastructure. A True Open Access network is owned and run by a company that does not offer any end user services and thus don’t compete with its service provider partners. 1XS from JALENAS is an example of such network and the only option in Malaysia. Therefore an end user cannot buy Broadband plans from JALENAS. We only provide the connection and capability to use your service provider of choice. In JALENAS 1XS network the end user can buy and chose different services from different providers. For example, how about a broadband connection, which deliver High Speed Internet from JARING, Television from ASTRO and fixed line Telephony services from Maxis?

A fiber-optic cable is installed between the end user and JALENAS Central Office location. In the end user home an access module device converts the optical signals to electronic data signals. The standard used in the home is Ethernet and IP (Internet Protocol). These protocols allow any existing triple play service (TV, Telephony, Internet) to be delivered into the home over the same and single cable connection. JALENAS metropolitan city network connects to the local Central Office to the regional point of interconnect where the service providers interface with JALENAS network. FTTH promises connection speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) -- 20 to 100 times as fast as a typical cable modem or DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) connection -- implementing FTTH on a large scale will be costly because it will require installation of new cable sets over the "last mile link" JALENAS construct and build a totally new infrastructure independent from any existing network.

JALENAS’s 1XS connection and network is constructed out of the latest and modern technology to handle todays and future consumer demands. The network is much more reliably and durable than any conventional technologies. FTTH connections also will allow consumers to purchase and get all services delivered offer the same optic cable link. This is more cost effective and simple than receiving the services via different lines, as the normal case is today. Today we offer speeds up to 100 times faster. Typically we will install the connection within 1-2 weeks after we have received and accepted the registration form in areas where we have prepared the network. The connection will be installed by our professional installation partner, which will call you to make an appointment. JALENAS installation is fast and shall not exceed 4 hours. At the time of launch and installation guideline will be available, which further describes how the installation is done and what the end user have to prepare. Until this material is available we recommend you to sign up for Interest with JALENAS.

Yes, besides normal requirements of showing ID, being over 18 yers old and having permission from the property owner, certain further requirements might be applicable from time to time when JALENAS waives the installation fee. Any T&C or other requirements needed to be fulfilled to register for services are provided by the Service Providers.

We expect the service providers to offer competitive prices for their services and JALENAS will also offer a market adopted price for the installation of the physical 1XS connection. How much do I have to pay?

No. The DRG is under warranty for a period of 12 months. During the 12 months, the DRG is owned by JALENAS. After the expiration of the warranty, the subscriber becomes the owner of the DRG.

JALENAS network is a packet based network offering superior and guaranteed Quality of Service. In such network multiple services can be delivered simultaneous without interrupting each other, irrespective of being delivered from different service providers.

No. The customer premises equipment which JALENAS provides acts as the modem for your internet connection and connection to other service devices. This device is a JALENAS by remote managed optical to electrical data converter. The customer interface is a Twisted pair Fast Ethernet interface. JALENAS also sells additional customer premises equipment modules like Data to analogue Voice converter, Wi-Fi gateway and the Switch modules to expand the number of ports and capabilities. Standard Ethernet device you might already have can be connected to the network and there are also specific devices that the service providers deliver for respective service. Example; the Set Top Box and other service devices.

The JALENAS network is totally independent from the TM fixed line telephony network. Over 1XS you can subscribe to a voice service that would replace the TM phone line delivering the same function. If you want you can also choose to keep and continue to use your old phone line independent from the 1XS connection. More information will be provided at the start of sales. Yes. JALENAS installer will need to install the Customer Premises Equipment (DRG). This includes drilling one hole through the wall to get the fiber optic cable into the premises. In some situations a duct hole already exists which are able to be used by the JALENAS installer and drilling is not required. Pre-included in the installation is one Ethernet wall socket and up to 10 Meters of Ethernet cable. The cable will be clamped onto the wall and the wall socket is fixed to the wall by drilling mounting holes. The customer can also choose to exclude the installation of the cable if he or she wants to connect the Ethernet device directly to the DRG using patch cabling. More information on installation and options will be provided after the start of sales.

If your computer or devices has an electrical Ethernet interface you should be able to connect directly to the network using an Ethernet cable. If your computer does not have an Ethernet interface you need to install an Ethernet Network Interface Card.

JALENAS has intention to deploy nationwide. Each city will be deployed according to our roll out plan. This roll out plan is confidential until further notice. Please register your interest with us as your interest application will influence our deployment priority.

Currently we are serving the city of Kuantan. Coverage has been established in the Putra Square area. JALENAS is constantly expanding the network. If you may provide us your address, we can check if the area is within coverage or under planning. Please sign up for interest with us.

Yes the customer can change the installation date up to 24 hours in advance of the installation. We normally need at least 24 hours’ notice to be able to reschedule the installation. Else the installers might already be on their way or have mobilized tools to prepare for your particular installation job. If the customer should fail to turn up at the installation location at the pre-agreed installation time, or if the customer needs to cancel or change the installation appointment within 24 hours of the agreed upon time, then we will charge RM150 and reschedule for another day. The RM150 will be collected by the installer on site before commencing any work on the re-scheduled date.

JALENAS can guarantee the speed of the traffic up to the Service Provider network. Our infrastructure is dimensioned not to allow any blocking through the 1XS network. When the traffic transits out of JALENAS network to the Internet this speed will be subject to the Service Providers networks and IP transit connectivity’s to the rest of the world.
